Abstract

This paper examines the subject of the weapon legislation, more specifically the 2^nd amendment. The main purpose of it, is to understand why a change to law is so difficult, and to do this there have been taken into account; how the values of the American people affect the change of the law, an analysis of two speeches have been made (Obama and the NRA) and lastly a discussion on why it is so difficult to change the law, even though there have been a number of school shootings. Renæssancen, pesten og den guddommelige komedie

Abstract

This study examines how aggression is portrayed in literature and how the psychological explanations of aggression have developed through time. The study starts out by giving an account of various psychological theories relevant in the analysis and interpretation of the books, such as the psychoanalysis of Freud, Behaviourism and social psychology. Thereafter there is an analysis and interpretation of three books from various periods in time: Robert L. Stevenson’s ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ from 1886, Anthony Burgess’ ‘A Clockwork Orange’ from 1962 and J.G Ballard’s ‘Running Wild’ 1988. Hvad hvis man skulle vælge mellem at opnå en højere, måske endda guddommelig, forståelse også ens helt kendte menneskelige materielle behov. For på den ene side, hvordan kan en ’åbenbaring’ være sammenlignelig med noget så gement som mad, og på den anden side bliver man jo ikke mæt af ’åbenbaringer’ og hvis man ikke får stillet sine menneskelige behov, betyder ’åbenbaringer’ så noget? – Hvad ville vægte højest og ville det over hoved være muligt at vælge mellem de to? The Hunger Games

Imagine being born into a new world that rose from the ashes of an old world, and imagine, that in this world there is a capitol and around it there are districts – the father away from the capital the poorer the district. You so happen to live in the one farthest away, and your life is a continuous struggle to feed yourself and those close to you. Additional to that, each year, you must risk being sent to an arena where you have to kill young men and women from the other districts in order to survive and win the ‘game’. Let us then conclude that if this were your reality you would be living in a very dystopian world. But what then if you instead of living in poverty and fear on the outside, lived in the midst of this world – in the capitol? You would never be hungry or want for anything and you would live your life in contentment, without having to experiencing war. Den Afrikanske Farm

Duften og smagen af kaffe er kendt og elsket af de fleste, men det er de færreste i denne del af verden, der selv i denne ellers så berejste tid, nogensinde har set den som del af den plante den kommer fra. Få tænker over den eksotiske plante der dyrkes i det lige så eksotiske land Afrika. Dengang rejsen til dette mytiske land var forundt en meget lille skare, tog en ung Karen Blixen(ref. Blixen) af sted for at opleve Afrika og dyrke kaffe på en farm. Hun blev helt fortryllet og forelsket over landet og dets vilde, men skønne natur og folket, som hun levede side om side med.
