Illegal immigration fra Afrika til Spanien
Abstract
Millions of illegal immigrants from the West African countries live in Spain. They have crossed the Mediterranean Sea in small, fragile boats hoping to put the poor living conditions and the poverty in their native countries behind them. They wish to start over in the high developed Europe. This paper will expound the living conditions of Senegal, Ivory Coast and Spain by using theories about welfare models and by economic parameters. The study comprises of a new critical analysis of a Spanish poem and short story with focus on the representation of the African immigrants and their encounter with Spain. The studies show that the texts try to propagate the poor living standards of the illegal immigrants; that they are living a hard and poor life with few opportunities, with their lives at stake and with crushed dreams. This assignment examines how the living conditions of the illegal immigrants of Africa are being represented in the Spanish texts, and whether these texts are with or without foundation.
