Udviklingen af differentialregning og integralregning
Abstract
The main subject of this project is the differential and integral calculus. This research accounts for the scientific revolution in Europe during the 17th century. Furthermore it accounts for the evolution of the differential and integral calculus, and also explains the difference between Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz’s methods of the infinitesimal calculus. Among these there is an explanation of the differentiation rules, and how the methods were used to find the tangent to the curve including an analyzed example. At last there is an assessment of Newton and Leibniz’s impact on mathematics, the mathematical method and science in general. The work method has been historical method for the assessment and experimental mathematics alongside with the mathematical deductive method for the mathematics. The research revolves around, how the differential and integral calculus was developed and the significance of its development. To conclude the differential and integral calculus is the greatest breakthrough in the history of mathematics. [Læs mere…]
